Bezahlbar Studieren is a movement led by the national association of Swiss student bodies (VSS) aimed at preventing the proposed doubling of university tuition fees across Switzerland. The initiative organizes demonstrations and petitions to raise awareness and influence policy decisions, emphasizing the importance of accessible education for all. On October 1, 2025, the organization successfully gathered over 37,000 signatures and mobilized more than 6,000 people nationwide in protest. Bezahlbar Studieren argues that increased fees would undermine educational equality, deter talented students, and weaken Switzerland's position as an innovation hub.
